Today, I spoke to the Social Entre class, which is part of the Leadership minor at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
The class divided into three teams surrounding the following topics:
1. Creating a music-making co-working space for musicians who don’t have enough money for their own studio
2. Encouraging students to get fit by providing a resource for finding workout buddies and discounted entry to fitness centers
3. A buy-one-give-one bracelet company that gives color coordinated bracelets to a different organization each month in an effort to raise awareness and sense of solidarity (November, for example, is prostate cancer awareness month)
I spoke to the class about Bogobrush and about overcoming hurdles of ambiguity by just jumping into the pool. It’s only by asking questions about things you don’t know and by taking action – even if it feels like trial and error – that you truly learn and make progress.
It was so much fun meeting some great future-entrepreneurs. I was truly honored to be given the opportunity to speak with these bright, young people, and as an added bonus, I really enjoyed walking around and seeing what the beautiful U of M campus had to offer!
Cheers,
Heather
